Measure the circumference of your head by positioning a tape measure in the middle of your forehead, wrapping it around above your ears and around the back of your head. If your measurement falls somewhere in between sizes you have to decide which suits your personal preference. So if you prefer a tight fit, go for a smaller size and if you prefer a loose fit, go for the bigger size. If you are uncertain, always go for the tighter size, as the padding will soften after being worn a few times.
It is also important that the helmet you choose has a recognised standard (BSI or ECE).
